This is a pretty easy to use calculator, but I’m not sure why there is an option to use a male button, and a female button? Male and female button is calculated using the same formula, isn’t it?

The BMI Calculator male is spot on. This is a very effective tool.
This is a great BMI calculator for females as well…. worked spot on for me Thx! I found this much easier to use and more informative than the excel calculator I had been using.
I agree with Michael, if the formula is the same for men and women, why does this calculator have the option to select either males or females? Shouldn’t it just be one option since the formula is the same for both??
Is this BMI Calculator for kids as well? I’m not sure if the formula is different for children, but this calc doesn’t have an option for kids, just adults
I really find the BMI calculator awesome. I have been overweight for most of my life and have recently had gastric bypass. I find that this website calculator is the best I have found to keep an eye on my progress.

Wouldn’t a BMI Calculator with age be more helpful for most people? I mean I can’t imagine that my teenage grandson would have the same BMI formula as I do as I’m in my late fifties? Sometimes I doubt the usefulness of the body mass index in general.
